Reusing the existing building but remodelled, extended and thermally upgraded to make it a flexible, low carbon, sustainable building fit for the community to enjoy for many years to come.
We have received many compliments and congratulations from members of the community and we are delighted with the results
Ridgewell Village Hall lies within a Conservation Area and is well used by the community. However, the existing hall was in desperate need of modernisation and needed more flexible lettable space. Inkpen Downie’s brief was to renew and repair various areas of the existing hall in order to prolong its life, upgrade its thermal performance and comfort levels while improving its appearance and attractiveness to users. With the addition of the new meeting room to the rear, which could be used independently of the main hall, it created more flexibility for the community. An external veranda style covered area was also designed to provide weather protection for users waiting to access the building and improve its relationship with the playing field.
