Part II Architectural Assistant

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a talented and motivated Part 2 Architectural Assistant to join our expanding team. You'll be integral to projects from initial concept through to detailed design and delivery, supporting senior architects and contributing to design development. 

About Us:

Inkpen Downie Architects is a design-led practice based in Colchester, Essex. We are committed to delivering thoughtful, high-quality and sustainable architecture across residential, commercial, heritage, and community projects. Our team values collaboration, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving, while maintaining the highest professional standards as set out by the Architects Registration Board (ARB) and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing design concepts and presentations

  • Produce high-quality technical drawings and models

  • Contribute to design stages, from feasibility to planning applications

  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other consultants

  • Utilise 3D modelling software for project delivery

What We're Looking For:

  • RIBA Part 2 qualification (MArch) (PgDip)

  • Experience using 3D modelling software

  • Strong graphic and design skills

  • Excellent communication (verbal/written) and teamworking abilities

  • Ideally, 1-2+ years of UK practice experience

  • Enthusiasm for design and a proactive attitude

  • UK Drivers Licence and access to car

  • Right to work in UK
