Vineyard to Build a New Visitor Centre, Eatery and Wine Warehouse

Crouch Ridge Vineyard, located on the south-facing slope of the River Crouch is set to build a new visitor centre, eatery and wine warehouse.

The special landscape area is dominated by rows of vines meaning any developmental work must bare the sensitive surroundings in mind but also be functional for business use. The proposed wine warehouse, visitor facility with a shop and bistro will produce a functional commercial building that incorporates its surroundings, using the shop to promote the vineyard and sales of wine.

The simple, monolithic building with few openings, preserves the character and proportions of an agricultural building as much as possible. The south facing elevation, which will be different in character with large areas of glass in order to maximise the daylight inside, will emphasise the views of the vineyard and distant views of the River Crouch.
