We can provide Architectural Services tailored to your requirements, you can retain us for individual or a combination of stages of the construction process, such as, feasibility studies, design, planning application, working drawings, or site supervision.

HISTORIC BUILDING CONSULTANCY

Director, Ben Downie is on the Register of Architects Accredited in Building Conservation, recognised by English Heritage and other conservation bodies. Services include Measured Surveys, Historic Building Repair, Conservation Plans, and applications for Listed Building Consent. We specialise in finding new uses for redundant buildings.

INTERIOR DESIGN

Our interior designers have experience ranging from the design of liturgical furniture and fittings to office space, planning and the design of accessible reception spaces and retail areas. Our design input can add quality to the message that your building gives to the visitor about your organisation.

CDM COORDINATOR

We can offer advice in the role of CDM Coordinator as required by the Construction Design Management Regulations to supplement our design skills in selected projects.

ADVICE ON SUSTAINABLE DESIGN

Our philosophy is promote Healthy Buildings and Energy Conservation. Our services include providing National Home Energy Rating and SAP Assessment as well as advice on green specification and sustainable design.

QUINQUENNIAL INSPECTIONS AND ASSET MANAGEMENT PLANS

Inkpen Downie Architecture & Design Ltd offer the service of Quinquennial Investigations and Asset Management Plans. The investigations and plans highlight issues of concern with regard to the state and repairs required to maintain the building over a specific time framework and budget. The reports are carried out and collated by a suitably qualified team, lead by Ben Downie, Director, MSc in the Conservation of Historic Buildings and the register of Architects Accredited in Building Conservation.

With AABC and DAC (Diocesan Advisory Committee) approval we are perfectly placed to help you achieve your objectives for your church or community alterations or repairs.

BUILDING INSURANCE CLAIMS

We have accumulated considerable experience in the effect of fire on buildings and agreeing appropriate repairs with the relevant authorities. We are used to providing the necessary material for loss adjusters to assess claims and for insurers to process them. Often this is done in conjunction with other consultants and we have contacts amongst Structural Engineers and Quantity Surveyors who can quickly be involved in order to provide the full picture.
