'Modern Extension to Listed Building'

Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent was granted to alter and extend a Grade II Listed mid-terrace town house in Colchester.

The works involved the erection of a part single / part two storey frameless glazed addition to the rear of the building.

Key features

  • Frameless Glazed Extension for Maximum Amount of Natural Light
  • Restricted Access within Busy Town Centre Location
  • Modern Extension for Modern Living within Listed Building

The works created improved connections to the communal rooms within the house and has introduced more natural light into these spaces.

The overall design philosophy is to transfer you from a dimly lit space at the front of the property into an unexpected contemporary modern insertion to the rear of the property that is flooded with natural daylight.
